Sound
Driven Laser Installation
The Sound Driven Laser installation (SDL) is a new production method that translates sound into graphics or physical objects. This technique involves modulating speakers to specific frequencies that create patterns and compositions with laserlight, resulting in unique images that represent the multidimensional design language of sound itself. The resulting laser-drawn shape of the installation can be used to project the shape of sound through space, 3D print sound in real time, or make imprints of sound on media.
The installation is a human-controlled generative process using sound as an engine.
